Cities, Town, & Village Entrants

The core of the Bloom is the participation of our Cities, Towns and Villages. Britain in Bloom with the RHS celebrated 50 years of Community Horticulture in 2014, and Thames and Chilterns in Bloom has been running for most of this period.

We welcome new entries in all the categories - which are based on population.

Links for the entry form and background information on entering can be found on the Downloads Page. Judging for the Thames and Chilterns region will take place in July 2019.

The best of our category winners may be offered the opportunity to take part in the National (UK) Finals of Britain in Bloom in 2020, with judging in August 2020.

We also make a number of regional Awards, further information on these is available on the Regional and Schools Awards page of this website.

If you wish your community to be considered for any of these, please inform the judges at or before the start of the tour.

Town Centres &
BID Entrants

The Britain in Bloom with the RHS Business Improvement District (BID) category was launched in 2014. It was originally restricted to constituted BID's only, and since 2015 has been competed for Nationally.

From 2018, the category has been widened to include Town Centres too.

The Town Centre category would suit communities that have a thriving town centre, but feel unable to showcase the surrounding areas.

Both BID's and Town Centres are assessed using a new, different type of judging sheet to that used for Cities, Towns and Villages - see Downloads Page.

We welcome both Town Centre and BID entries for 2019.

You can download all the forms from  the
