Regional Awards Information 2019

Entries in our City, Town, Village, Business Improvement District and Town Centre categories are eligible to be considered for our Regional and School Awards.  They are open to any entry and are intended to encourage key aspects of the Bloom initiative within the Region.

In 2019 we will be taking the new National theme “Inspiring Everyone to Grow” as our main Regional Award. Entrants may, however, have their own overall theme which pulls together aspects of their In Bloom entry.  Should this be the case, please be sure to point it out to the judges, as part of the tour, who will be interested to hear more.

Thames and Chilterns will continue to present their own Regional Awards which recognise excellence in particular areas.

The Regional Awards for 2019 are for:

Business Involvement

Community Involvement

Conservation and Wildlife

Heritage

Horticulture

Involving Children and Young People

Managing the Environment

Pride of Place

A brief description for each of these awards can be found on the Downloads Page.

A separate award, The Mark Mattock Schools Challenge, is presented to the school that best meets a range of criteria as described in the School Marking Sheet (see Downloads Page).  These fit in with aspects of the RHS School Gardening Scheme, Eco and Forest Schools.

It is helpful if you are interested in entering for any of these awards that you mention it to the judges when they come to visit.
